How Effective Is Social Media When It Comes To Raising Awareness?  ““But what can I do, I am just one person” Said 7 billion people…” I saw the above quote in a post on Instagram shared by many people who are currently raising awareness about the war on Gaza. With a private Instagram account with 330 followers, most of them being family and close friends, and as I post things on my Story to inform people about the bizarre events that are taking place is Palestine right now, I do wonder if any of my posts have an impact on what is going on in the world.   What’s The Difference?   How Luxury Brands Represent Themselves On Social Media Platforms  What kind of content is being posted? Who is featured on the page? How are the posts captioned? In this blog we will take a look at what distinguishes a luxury brand from a causal one on social media and see if there is even a difference. Can You Guess? Look at these two pictures. When I took the screenshots I tried to keep out any product indicators so that guessing the brands can become somewhat tough. However, can you still tell whether the picture is “luxurious” or just casual?      Both posts are from beauty product companies, and to be honest just looking at the pictures without any context I would say that there is absolutely no difference in the “status” of the companies. Did that question ever cross your mind before? Well, if you said no then maybe you should start thinking about it! On Device Research did a study surveying people from the U.S., China, India, and the UK where they found that 1 in every 10 adults and young adults were turned down for employment due to their actions on social media.   Also, there are many articles that talk about how posting on social media can have an impact on one’s job.   Philly’s Best Hot Chicken, ASAD’S!? A Little Bit Of Background It all started with people talking about the crazy long line of customers cutting through the Roosevelt Blvd as they wait to place an order of hot chicken.  In July of 2022, Asad Khan, the founder and CEO of ASAD’S Hot Chicken, opened “the best” Halal food spot in Philadelphia. This small business had started in the parking lot of a gas station (7300 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA) and now has a total of three locations, a second location on Cottman Ave and another one in Bensalem.  From being called “Gas station chicken” to being featured on The Philadelphia Inquirer and in Philadelphia Magazine ; this business had made its success through social media and the love of the people.  My Experience? Simply Delicious! I live in Northeast Philly and I pass by ASAD’S on the daily.
